Eligibility Requirements

The call for artists is open to all local Twin Cities artists with priority to Stevens Square Residents. Out of state applicants will not be considered.

The 2009 festival dates are June 6th and 7th. Artists must be present for the entire two days (rain or shine).

All work must be original art conceived and executed by the artist.

Red Hot Art aims to be a diverse festival. If there is an excessive amount of applicants in any given medium we reserve the right not to accept artists in order to maintain a balance of work.

Red Hot Art aims to bring art to the community. Most art sold at the event ranges between $5 - $50 (there are certainly exceptions). Please don't see this as a limitation.

Artists rejected in the past are encouraged to re-apply.

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, MARCH 20th 2009

Booth Fees

Artists will be informed of acceptance by Wednesday, April 1st. If you are accepted to participate, you will receive a contract to sign and return to Stevens Square Community Organization with your $50 participation fee. The participation fee will be $70 for those applications submitted after Friday, March 20th.

Your participation fee entitles you to one 10'x10' space for both days. You may share with up to 2 other artists. Each additional artist adds $20 to the participation fee. There will be absolutely no refunds. Once your signed contract and fee is received, your space will be reserved. In order to have your name included in event publicity you must return your contract and fee by FRIDAY, APRIL 24th.

YOU PROVIDE YOUR OWN TENT, TABLES, AND CHAIRS. A list of vendors will be made available. Overnight security provided.

Artwork Donations

Please consider donating an item for use in a Red Hot silent auction to raise money for next year's Red Hot Art. With government agencies and grant-making organizations drastically scaling-back their support for the arts, this year could be crucial to the survival of Red Hot Art!
